SOBRE VERSATILE, the steel gravel bike from the French brand sobre (designed in Beujolais) was presented as a prototype in July 2015, shown at the ROC D'AZUR in October 2015 and started to be sold End November 2015. I have already talked about it, but now i have many more pictures - details - , provided by SObre (thank you) to show you.
The brand SOBRE created in 2007, has for target to propose steel frame that can fit the main use of most of riders....and with a really pretty attractive budget ! the SOBRE VERSATILE is one of them !
The GRAVEL SOBRE VERSATILE is made of Cromo 4130, Double Butted for the front triangle (2180g in Medium). The geometry is definitely orientated for a cyclo-cross use, the bike is quite first firm but pretty easy to handle. The headtube is the usual (for now) 44mm llowing to set up a tapered or non tapered fork depending the headset. It is only available as a single frame or as a frameset if you plan to buy the frame plus the fork and it can only be mount with disc (rotor 160mm). The idea behind the SOBRE VERSATILE is that you can set up this bike as you really wish as the frame feature many small details to run the bike with different styles.
Wanna set it up as a Commuter or as a Touring Road bike : set up a first rack at the rear with the eyelet and the second one on the Sobre Versatile fork (the fork is ready for it !). As a road steel bike with disc, you can run it with a double crankset, there is a cable stop at the rear of the seat tube to mount a front dérailleur (collar).
For a cyclocross or a gravel steel bike, you can set it up as show with the pictures below by using a single-ring crankset 40T and a 10/42T cassette, the brakes are SRAM BB7 ROAD and the wheels are from the HOPE MTB range : Hope tech XC mount with Hutchinson Toro CX Tubeless.
