GENESIS BOROUGH - ROBUST STEEL CITY BIKE

GENESIS BOROUGH is part of the GENESIS BIKES urban range 2016 named "Bridge". Officially founded in 2006 under the name GENESIS, this small British brand based in the United-Kingdom designed its first bike the "Day One" (still in the catalogue) in 2001. They are now famous for their steel bikes, especially the Day one and the Croix De Fer. Their global range now cover road, mountain, cyclo-cross, gravel, kids and fat bikes.
GENESIS is sponsoring independent riders but it is also the bikes supplier of the Madison Genesis team (UCI Continental level).

GENESIS BOROUGH is the brother of the GENESIS COLUMBIA featuring the exact same components and steel tubes. The steel frame, with a twin top-tube, is also made of Genesis MjölnirDouble-Butted Cromoly (Cromo 4130 designed to Genesis specifications) like now all the pure city bikes from GENESIS. It comes in replacement of the usual Reynolds 520 that allow the GENESIS BOROUGH to have a good ratio price / equipment without sacrificing performances of the bike.

THe GENESIS BOROUGH is pretty well equipped and you do not have to buy a lo of extra accessories..maybe a basket and bags for carrying stuff. It comes right out of the box quipped with a rar rack, fenders, pedals, chainguard... The brakes are the mechanical disc Shimano Tourney with 160mm Rotors that provides enough braking power for a city use whatever the weather is and also a low and easy maintenance. The drivetrain is a 1x9 speeds mainly from Shimano Altus derailleurs and shifters. Samox Crank 42T at the front and 11/34 for the cassette are enough for flat ride and with reserve to climb unexpected short & sharp ascents.

The GENESIS BOROUGH is the right bike, using a traditional transmission, for daily city ride to go shopping or else. It is not a "commuter", not really a speedy machine and the position is quite straight, but it ll be ok to ride to your workplace on a short distance. It ll be also a good riding companion for a short family ride in the week-end.
