GENESIS BRIXTON is one of the brand new city bike from the GENESIS BIKES urban range 2016. Officially founded in 2006 under the name GENESIS, it is a small British brand based in the United-Kingdom that designed its first bike the "Day One" (still in the catalogue) in 2001. They are pretty famous for their steel bikes. Their global range now cover road, mountain, cyclo-cross, gravel, kids and fat bikes.
GENESIS is sponsoring independent riders but it is also the bikes supplier of the Madison Genesis team (UCI Continental level).
The GENESIS BRIXTON share the exact same frame than the GENESIS SMITHFIELD, both equiped with horizontal dropouts for a "gearhub" set up. And yes it look like the GENESIS BOROUGH, but this one is equiped with vertical dropouts and a dérailleur hanger. Those 3 bikes are part of the new city bike range of GENESIS BIKES : BRIDGE !
Made of Genesis MjölnirDouble-Butted Cromoly (Cromo 4130 designed to Genesis specifications) instead of Reynolds 520 used last year, it allow the brand to propose it with a better ratio price / equipment without sacrificing performances of the bike.
The GENESIS BRIXTON is a low maintenance urban bike, a go to bike for any urban task ready for rainy condition as it is equipped with fenders and mechanical disk brakes (Promax DSK-300M with 160mmrotor). Disk brakes are a real advantage while you are riding under wet condition and even more if your bike is quite loaded, a best for your security.
Featuring a unique chainring and a unique sprocket, the rear hub is a Sturmey Archer RS-RK3 3speed offering you low maintenance, efficiency, and reliable shifting. The middle gear is suitable for the majority of flat terrain, while the gears either side provide an uphill and downhill gear option, clearly enough for an urban use.
Planning to stop by your favourite grocery or for an easy ride with a food stop around the lake in the week-end, no problem the GENESIS BRIXTON is equipped with a rear rack.
