LAFRAISE CYCLES - Andreas, originaire d'Allemagne et parfaitement Francophone, vit en France depuis maintenant 1 an avec une riche expérience de 6 ans en Asie. Installé, à Roubaix, cette ville est pour lui un extraordinaire lieu de travail pour un artisan concoctant des vélos et des cadres en acier. En effet, cette ville mélange savamment un esprit industriel et une identité forte dans le cyclisme grâce à la course "Paris - Roubaix". Cela a prit concrètement 1 an pour monter l'atelier, développer son système pour la prise de mesure/ bikefitting, sélectionner les meilleurs fournisseurs de matériaux et de composants.

His past years in Asia gives him inspiration in the building of frame, especially for track bikes that get a touch of the Keirin racing spirit (2km long japanese cycling races with 4 to 8 opponents at one time).

Of course you can guide and help you in your choice by watching its bike gallery, but Andreas works by project and only one at a time meaning you can get any kind of bike you are dreaming about and work on your project helped by the expertise of Andreas. He is mainly specialized to all related about road touring bikes, sport road bike, track, urban commuter...and if your dream is to ride a touring bike that can also be a good and reliable commuter, he can built you a machine that get the best of both world right from the scratch to the last components.

How to proceed to have a dream machine built from LAFRAISE CYCLES ? it is a 3 steps process...that seems short on number..1.2.3..but can be pretty time consuming as it is a project starting almost from scratch.
Firstly you need to know, as a base, what kind of bike you want and mainly what you really want to achieve. You also enter in a process of discussion with Andreas and regarding your needs and your riding style, Andreas will advice you on the best steel tube series to use for your build and the same for the finishes touches like the choice of the groupset, the handlebar...Secondly, he sends you a quotation with a timeline and at least, if you agreed on the project he will start building your dream machine from Columbus or Reynolds steel tubes depending on your project. The method use to build the bike is by fillet brazing or silver, the advantage is not to overheat the tube so it prevents to loose the original characteristic of the steel.

Of course, LAFRAISE CYCLES frame are bespoke. The real advantage to get a tailored bikes is that the geometry and sizing perfectly fit your body geometry and by playing with the length, the diameter and the thickness of the steel tubes Andreas provides reactivity, comfort, rigidity, handling to your machine. Inspired by Japanese Keirin race bikes, the geometry is as aggressive as it gets: minimal tire clearance, 74 degrees seat and head tube angle, 25mm fork rake. Equipped with NJS compliant components only.
