Here is a new Gravel-bike realized by CYFAC and for CYFAC. Indeed this realization is the personal gravel-bike of Damien, the framebuilder of the French brand. Numbered 11085, it does well-on-call steel tubes from the Italian-based Columbus steelmaker with which CYFAC has been working closely together for a long time.

This model is designed to be a true "ride-everywhere" with a sporty character. It allows Damien to be at ease in the off-road portions, thanks in part to a 60mm-high bottom bracket, but also on the road allowing him to calmly ride during long hours. He uses his bike on about 60% on trails and 40% on roadS and he also happens to travel DURING 2-3 days with light equipment in bikepacking mode. Its gravel steel bicycle weighs only 10kilos and is articulated around a Columbus steel frame mixing the series "Oversize" HSS, Zona and Life.

The frame, slightly slopping, is handmade in the workshops of CYFAC based in the town of La Fuye. The front triangle consists of a Columbus HSS top tube with a constant profile W01 welded flat (see attached picture) with a length of 530mm. This small diameter tube allows flexibility and comfort. Conversely, the diagonal tube is of a much bigger diameter. Its GX profile varies and has a triangular shape at the level of the headtube to gradually flatten as it approaches the bottom bracket. The deformation of the tube, combined with its large diameter, allow to stiffen the bottom of the bicycle against the stress generated by the action of the pedaling to fully restore the effort of the pilot.

At the back, Damien used Columbus Life straight tubes with a diameter of 17mm but they benefited from a "home" bend. It is thus possible to mount a rear tire with a maximum width of 38mm. Their fineness combined with bending improve the filtration of the vibrations. The chainstays are made of Columbus ZONA SingleBend (curved), with a diameter of 24mm and a length of 425mm. The rear dropouts are quick release type 10x135mm.

The headtube is a 44mm diameter Paragon model, it is equipped with a ChrisKing Inset 7 headset which is a gem of fluidity but especially longevity. The fork is a Columbus Mud Disc painted to the color of the frame, I let you appreciate the finish inside the fork-leg.

As you can see the transmission is single-ring 1x11 is consists of a rear dérailleur SRAM RIVAL 1, a cassette of the same group in 11/36 and a front crank SRAM GX100 with a plate of 36 teeth. The brakes are GUNSHA CX R1 Hydro-Mechanical  available only at the online sales site of this brand. Tires are schwalbe Sammy Slick in 700x35, they have a double layer of reinforced nylon under the tread, confering an anti-puncture protection. They are mounted on a pair of Shimano WH-RX31 Disc Centerlock wheels.
