The steel frame OKA from the brand PRODUCTION PRIVEE is the "little brother" of the welknown SHAN 27 from the same brand. Delivered in 650B, you can easily switch to 26" with the optional kit sold in the eshop of PRODUCTION PRIVEE. The frame is 150 grams (2490gr) less that his big brother. The tubes are from a smaller diameter, the type of steel used is CROMO 4130 Japan Double Butted developped for the brand.. The head-tube is tapered and ready for a fork from 120mm to 140mm travel. The Top Tube is longer of 10mm. The OKA is definitely more oriented for a TRAIL / All Mountain use, it is more versatile and it is more designed to pedal for a longer time than the SHAN 27.
But not to break the relationship, the OKA inherits many elements from the SHAN 27. We find the anti-corrosion treatment both internally and externally by ED Black process (anti-corrosion treatment as electrophoresis). The CROMO 1430 Japan is Double Butted (when for the SHAN 27 it is Triple Butted) receive a heat treatment to increase the rigidity of the frame except seat-stays that needs to stay soft flexible to absorb vibration. KTP flex system - which consist in flattening the the tubes (stays, base) that compose the rear triangle to give it a vertical flexibility without loosing lateral stiffness. The bottom bracket is Press-fit because it allow to enlarge the base in order to set up larger tires.
Delivered in 142.12mm rear axle (recommended), PRODUCTION PRIVEE sell as spare parts 135x10 rear hanger. Same for the wheels size, the frame is initially ready for 650B but you can afford spare parts to suit the frame for 26" wheels.
