SALSA MARRAKESH - world touring bike !

The frame of the SALSA CYCLES MARRAKESH is made of Cobra Kai Cromoly Tubeset (Cromo 4130 specifictly engineered for Salsa), and it is mostly used on SALSA bikes that will have to carry a big charge like their tandem POWDERKED and the world touring bike MARRAKESH the one we are talking about right now. The bottom bracket is lower (77mm) and the chain-stay longer that what you could find on a gravel or light touring bike (from 455mm to 472mm). The lower bottom bracket will globally give you a better centre of gravity that makes riding and steering a loaded bike easier and more predictable.
The frame is equipped with the "Alternator Dropout" system, meaning you can adapt the dropout depending on the rear axle of your wheel : QR, 142x12, Freehub or Rohloff. It comes right out of the box equipped with the QR 10x135mm. The complete bike is equipped with a BSA 68mm bottom bracket with a 3x crankset but 1x or 2x is an option available.
Need to brake...no problem...it is disc-mount only and frame and fork can accept a rotor up to 180mm, complete bikes are delivered with Avid Mechanical BB7 in 160mm front-rear. About tires, you can set up tires up to 700x40mm with fenders or 700x50mm (29x2.0) without fenders.
There are some nice details like a spare spoke mount, a kickstand plate, three water bottle mounts and the fork includes three-pack mounts for anything Cages or additional water bottles.

Ready for adventure ? Even in distant lands, in case you damage your steel frame, finding someone that can weld it back to a rideable state, is easier than finding someone that can weld titanium, aluminium, or repair a composite frame.

SALSA CYCLES MARRAKESH is available as frameset or as a complete bike. Flatbar and Dropbar bikes share the exact same frame, so keep in mind that the geometry is design to try to suit each handlebar the best.
