Launched in 2011, the company designed all its bike in San Francisco (USA) and the production is externalised in Taiwan. SOMA FAB propose a range of 7 complete bikes and an impressive quantity of Frameset for all the taste.
Soma Fabrications ES is available as a complete bike or as a frame-kit (frame or frame + steel or carbon fork). Built from TANGE Prestige heat-treated butted cromo steel tubes for the front triangle and cromo for the rear, the Extra Smooth is derivated from the racing road bike Soma Fabrication Smooth. By "Extra Smooth" meaning smoother than the "Smooth"... the frame features a sportive geometry with a longer wheelbase (418mm medium length chainstays) than a racing bike, it is an endurance road bike that we allow you to stay fresh after long distance ride. Maybe a bit less reactive, this bike is perfect for touring, as you can mount rack and fenders. If you plan to ride many kilometres and why not over more than one days, you will gain comfort as you can set up tires up to 32c with fenders. The geometry provide stability, an interesting point in downhill.
The headtube, quite long to reduce the number of spacers, welcome a 1"1/8 fork steerer tube. Seat-post diameter is 27,2mm, rear axle spacing is 130mm and bottom bracket is BSA-BSC type 68mm threaded.
The complete bike is sold equiped with a compact drivetrain 50/34T Sugino Alpina and a large 11-32T cassette Sram PG1050. Components are mostly from SOMA parts range.
