PRAXIS WORKS is a bicycles components brand, its headquater is based in SANTACRUZ but the main activitie and team desk seems to be in TAIWAIN as they are mainly working with DRAGON TECH for most of its production. The company was created by Dave EARLE (check his biography) in 2007. He previously worked at Bontrager Cycles (now the accessory brand from TREK), Specialized, Santa Cruz Bicycles .... and now he is director of PRAXIS WORKS . Does the name of the bontrager previous product "Earl - Big earl - and King Earl" is due to his time at Bontrager ?
Well, he is not a rookie in the cycling industrie...he is a VETERAN !

The PRAXIS WORKS cassette, which is our main subject, offers 10 speed design to be set up on a traditionnal SHIMANO-SRAM freehub body for the simple reason that the first sprocket is an 11 theeth (remember that smaller size request a special freehub body). It is advertised to work with SHimano/SRAM on 1x10 and 2x10 without any change on the derailleur.

The range of sprockets is from 11 to 40. 80% of the cassette is made of steel, so 8 gears : 11-13-15-17-19-21-24-28 - but unlike the HOPE Cassette, they are not cut from one steel billet, they are all independant from 11 to 19, and a group of 3 21-24-28 in one piece. The end of the cassette is made from 7075-T6 aluminum for the teeth 34/40.
Nothing is stated on the steel used, neither for the life time.

  • 10sp ‘Wide-Range’  MTB 11-40 gearing
  • 11-13-15-17-19-21-24-28-34-40
  • 11-28 are steel, and the 34-40 are hard anodized 7075-T6 aluminum
  • For 10spd Shimano/SRAM Mid or Long cage MTB derailleurs only
  • For 1X10 or 2×10 MTB drivetrains only (adjust your chain length accordingly)
  • Avg. Weight 322g +/-
