SRAM NX is the brand new groupset from SRAM. It is an entry level 1x11 group-set dedicated for those who discovers MTB and want to access a 1x11 drivetrain at low cost, for kids bike as crankarms are available in 155mm lenght....or for adventurer, explorer and all those who wish a 1x drivetain mixing durability and simplicity.
The SRAM NX groupset features a wide range steel cassette 11/42T under the code PG1130. Starting with a 11T small sprocket, it is the first ever 11 speed cassette from SRAM that do not request their proprietary SRAM XD freehub. At least this is 100% compatible with usual Shimano/SRAM freehub and a serious counter-attack to aftermarket wide-range cog, wide cassette makers...and shimano with its 11/40T and 11/44T cassettes.
This cassette is not machined from one steel billet as the 7 first sprockets are all independent (11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, 25, 28) and the 3 last are linked together on a steel spider (32, 36, 42). It is 100% made of steel and like those steel chainrings developed by SRAM, it is a real guaranty of durability...made to last ! At 538gr it is not the lightest one but this is not the target of this cassette that is mostly focus on durability. Fully compatible with all SRAM 1x™ drivetrains....
You ride MTB...why not using an ultra light cassette on dry condition and keep the SRAM NX for muddy ride in the winter ? but maybe...you are an adventurer, an explorer, a worldtour fanatic that prefer reliability and durability over lightness because you need to ride with product that last and provide no worries...this cassette could perfectly fit on your off road touring bike, hydrid or gravel bike explorer.
