SUNRACE CSMX8 and CSMS8 11/46T EAZ are the new steel wide cassette manufactured by Sunrace Sturmey-Archer. This company is specialized in manufacturing components related to drivetrain : shifters, cassette, gearhub, cranks, dérailleurs...yes they also propose complete groupset for road and mtb bikes. Sunrace was founded in 1972 in Taiwain and Sturmey-Archer was founded in 1902 in the UK, they have merged in one entity in 2000 (Sunrace purchased Sturmey).

It is necessary to set up the things clear, CSMX8 and CSMS8 share similar features : They are 11 speeds wide cassettes for standard freehub starting with 11t sprocket (non XD or exotic). Where do they differ ? The CSMX8 has its lagers sprocket, spacers and lock ring made of aluminium while the CSMS8 features a larger sprocket and lock ring made of steel and polymers spacers : there is a slight difference of weight.

Then we have 3 different additional products codes EAX, EAY and EAZ : 11-46T [EAZ] which is the new cassette proposed by SUNRACE, 11-42T [EAY] and 11-40T [EAX] that we already have shortly presented here.

All those CSMS8 and CSMX8 cassettes have a specific tooth design named "Fluid Drive Plus technology tm " to ensure a rapid shifting either up or down. You can compare this technology, in the idea, to the well known Shimano Hyperglide.

There are no price list. Depending on the model and number of teeth...price may vary between 55-85euros in Europe.
