CAMINADE the famous French brand that design and produce all its bikes on the french territory is showing a new bike project on its Twitter Account. A steel Triathlon bike is coming alive at the headquarters of the brand !
Made on a special request from a customer, the frame is already considered as a futur member of the steel bike range of CAMINADE meaning that if you want your steel Triathlon complete bike or frame you can already contact them.

First of all, those Triathlon bikes are only going to be available through the CAMINADE CUSTOM PROGRAM of the brand. All the frame are made to measure, tailored to perfectly fit each athlete. No series model are going to be developed.
This steel Triathlon bike, built for a quite tall racer of 1m88, is made of Columbus Spirit for the rear triangle and the down tube. They use Caminade Osborn Aerospace Grade for the top bent tube and the seat...straight tube. Yes you have read it correctly, what usually is part of the "visual signature" of the brand is for the first time not bent but a straight seat-tube. The reason is that the position need to be forward and if you look closely the seat tube is integrated (as an option depending on the customer needs). It also allow to fix an extra water bottle cage (it is not possible with an extremely bent tube).
About the geometry, the seat tube angle is specific to Triathlon Bike (or Time Trial) with 78 degrees ! The seat-stays are extremely short with a length of 398mm, it will results in a very dynamic bike, a performance machine......a rocket !
